Winter 2008
Tasting Room Renovations! Roger has been working hard on the 'old'
tank room. Windows are being installed. A new doorway from the
'dining room' has been cut. And Judy has been planning the finishing
touches! When all the dust settles, we are sure you will love the new
Tasting Room and Gift Shop space! We already do! Make plans to come
see the Tasting Room! Construction should be complete this spring -
barring unforeseen construction delays of course!
September 2007
Three of our wines won medals in the 2007 VA Governor's Cup! We are
please to inform you that the 2005 Cabernet Franc, 2005 Vidal Blanc and the
Smith Mountain Lake Sunset all won bronze medals in the Cup! This makes
the 2nd award for the Vidal! We invite you to come by the Tasting
Room/Gift Shop at the winery to taste these award winning wines!!!

We originally planned to release many of the 2005 vintages during our anniversary celebration (June 29 - July 8). Unfortunately, we have had to post-pone those releases due to label challenges. If you would like us to let you know when we release them, please join our e-Newsletter. We will post the date there as soon as it is determined.

The 2005 Vidal Blanc
has earned its first medal and it hasn't been released yet! This medal was
brought home from the 2007 International Eastern Wine Competition.
Speaking of releases, we anticipate releasing the 2005's in July. Join our

Wine & Moon Beams
was great fun! Thanks to all who braved the blustery evening to see the
eclipse! A special thanks to Jim Shauberger for bringing his telescope and
sharing his love of astronomy! And a special thanks to Gourmet in Motion
for keeping us warm on the inside with those wonderful chowders and
soups!
At the last two events we have been pouring tastings of yet to be released wines. Some are new to our wine list and some are the next vintage of old favorites. For those asking when we plan to release them, we are planning on a June release. Probably during our Anniversary Celebration. If you haven't already, sign up for our e-Newsletter for the details!
Thursday, February 15, 2007 - We have been busy in the vineyard pruning as well as in the winery getting the 2005's and 2006's ready for the bottle! We look forward to seeing you at our Winter Whites Open House on February 17 &18! Bring your Valentine for a complimentary wine tasting! Stay for lunch if you like, as we are pleased to announce that Gourmet in Motion will be onsite with their chowders both days from 11:30 - 1:30!
Wine and Moon Beams is back!!! Join us on Saturday, March 3, 2007 from 4pm-8pm for Wine and Moon Beams. We have scheduled a lunar eclipse for you viewing pleasure this night! Bring your chairs, blankets and flashlights and lets join Jim Shauberger for another fascinating night under the moon beams (& stars)! Gourmet in Motion will be onsite so come hungry!
Tuesday, December 19, 2006 - It seems Santa has been very good to us this year. The new winery is 90% complete and we plan to move in during the winter "off" season. We wish you and yours a Happy Holiday and a safe, healthy and happy new year!
Tuesday, September 5, 2006 - We should be able to ship you your favorite HHV&W wine soon! Once harvest if over and the new building is complete (giving us much needed room), we will apply for our shippers license and will begin shipping within VA. Other states will be added as the law and time allows. We will let you know when this service is up and running via the e-Newsletter!
Wednesday, August 30, 2006 - Work continues on our new winery building (Pictures coming soon!). Although we hoped it would be complete by harvest, it should be complete by the end of September. Thus, our last Sunset Saturday on October 28th will be the first opportunity to break-in the new porch! And what better entertainment than The Back Porch Players to do just that! We hope to see you there!
Saturday, August 26, 2006 - The 2004 Chardonnay was released at Sunset Saturday III. This Chardonnay has a bit more oak than the 2003 yet not enough to hide the varietal character. Come by the winery and taste for yourself!
Monday, June 5, 2006 - We enjoyed meeting all the folks that stopped by our booth at Vintage VA! It was a pleasure sharing our wines with you! We look forward to seeing you at The Virginia Wine Festival September 30 & October 1 or next year at Vintage VA!
Saturday & Sunday, May 20-21, 2006 - We are pleased to announce that our 2003 Chardonnay won a silver medal at the International Eastern Wine Competition! Stop by the winery to taste our newest award winning wine!
